Philips offers two vision plans through VSP. The Basic Plan provides coverage toward the essentials: an annual checkup and an allowance for contacts or frames and lenses. If you want a higher allowance or need enhancements to your lenses, the Enhanced Plan is the way to go.

A match made in heaven

We hope you spend many happy years at Philips. But when it’s time to enjoy your golden years, you’ll need (and want) financial security. That’s why Philips delivers a generous company match to your Philips 401(k) plan. That’s free money toward your retirement if you contribute to the 401(k) plan.

Philips matches the first 4% of your eligible earnings that you contribute to your 401(k) at 150% and matches the next 2% that you contribute at 50%. So, if you contribute 6% of your salary, you’ll generally score the maximum Philips match of 7%, for a total of 13% in savings.

NOTE: Employees located in Puerto Rico or Employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement are not eligible for this benefit. Refer to your specific plan documents for details.

A new baby is exciting but also exhausting! Philips recognizes the importance of work-life balance and that it takes time to adjust to the new responsibilities of a growing family. We offer four weeks of paid parental leave for all new parents following the birth or adoption of a child, plus eight weeks of paid maternity leave upon giving birth to a child.

Once you’re ready to return to work, ease back in with a reduced schedule, thanks to Philips’ Parental Leave Transition Program. You’ll get four weeks of part-time work at full-time pay immediately following parental leave.

Give your kid a leg up

Kiddo headed to college soon or already in college? While it’s an exciting time, it can also be a stressful one—college is not cheap! If you and your child qualify, your child can apply for one of a limited number of Philips scholarships of $2,500 – renewable each year until they graduate (up to a total of four years). That’s up to $10,000 to use toward college tuition costs. If you have an outstanding high school senior or undergraduate student who is planning to attend or is currently attending an accredited institution of higher education full time, your child can apply for the scholarship.

Heal up

Foot injury on an icy sidewalk? Took a line drive at your kid’s little league game? Surgery planned in advance? No matter the reason for your illness or injury, short-term disability (STD) benefits allow you the time you need to heal without missing out on your pay. You receive 100% salary for the first eight weeks. After that, the amount of your STD benefit depends on how long you’ve been with Philips. If you’re still unable to work after 26 weeks, basic long-term disability may be available.

A fan of hospital TV shows, Xavier knows that the first diagnosis or treatment plan isn’t always the right one. Good doctors arrive at different conclusions in the real world too. So, Xavier signs up for 2nd.MD to get a free second opinion on his knee surgery. Within a few days, he connected with a top specialist to review his diagnosis, treatment plan, and next steps. 2nd.MD didn’t change Xavier’s need for surgery. But it did put his mind at ease that he was making the right decision.

Tax Savings on the Surgery

It’s weird to think of a major medical procedure leading to a discussion of reducing taxable income. But, when Xavier talked with Health Advocate about his surgery, he mentioned he enrolled in the Health Care Flexible Savings Account (FSA) and has been saving money in it. Health Advocate reminded him he can use the money in his account for eligible expenses and walked him through what those are. Plus, because he's been saving money in an FSA account, Xavier reduces his taxable income!

A Stronger Recovery

As a Blue Cross Blue Shield member, Xavier can sign up for Hinge Health at no cost. Before his surgery, he’ll use the app for exercises to strengthen his knee and manage his pain. Then, during his post-operative recovery, he can find digital physical therapy exercises to quicken his recovery.
Disability Insurance

Paycheck Protection

While Xavier is recovering from his surgery, he doesn’t need to worry about getting paid. Since Xavier has been at Philips for more than 10 years, he’s eligible for up to 26 weeks of short-term disability pay at 100% of his annual base salary. If Xavier’s recovery goes sideways and he needs more than 26 weeks to recover, he may be eligible for long-term disability. That would cover at least 50% of his annual salary on a monthly basis beginning on the 27th week.
